STEP UP – Walkability for Women in Milan

Register in advance for this event. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing the information to join the event.

The event is organized as a series of talks and discussions revolving primarily around the findings of the scientific research project, “STEP UP-Walkability for Women in Milan”, funded by Fondazione Cariplo, and shedding light on the broader issue of gender-inclusive mobility planning in Milan and beyond. The 12-month project, led by Transform Transport, in collaboration with TeMA Lab – Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico Il, Sex & the City, and Walk21 Foundation, has come to an end. Join us to discuss the many diverse findings of the research project and engage in productive and stimulating discussions around the role of gender in shaping walking experiences in the city.

The STEP UP team will also share the main findings in a project booklet displayed at the event. This booklet serves as a valuable resource, offering insights gained from the research process and providing recommendations for future initiatives in gender-inclusive urban planning.

The event, conducted mostly in Italian with English translation services available, will not be livestreamed but will be video-recorded for later broadcast. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in the discourse on urban mobility and gender inclusivity.
